Salary: LA Grade 5

Actual salary £14,635 - £15,237 per annum (pay award pending)

 

Monday to Friday 8.50am-3.20pm (30 hours per week)

Term time only plus additional training days

Start date: 23rd August 2023

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant at St Mary's Church of England Primary School in Bitteswell.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in enabling our pupils to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your dedication, care, and high expectations of pupils will contribute to creating a positive and inspiring learning environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the teaching staff to provide individual or small group support to students with additional learning needs.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to students, fostering their self-confidence and well-being.
  • Promote positive behavior management strategies and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor student progress and communicate effectively about any concerns or achievements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and support the integration of students with special educational needs.
  • Utilize your sense of humor and creativity to engage students and make learning a joyful experience.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or working with children is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from candidates with a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of young learners.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to use your initiative and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • A sense of humor and the ability to create a fun and engaging atmosphere that motivates students.
  • High expectations of pupils, with a belief in their potential to succeed.
