Girls are allowed to wear school uniform type trousers with straight legs in plain mid-grey, during the period after the Mid October break until the end of the Spring Term only. (Other styles of trousers will not be permitted, this includes culottes.)
As our classrooms are partly carpeted all children must have a pair of outdoor footwear for use at playtime and lunchtime. Wellingtons or trainers are ideal. Please ensure your child can tie up their own laces so they can get out to play quickly.
Hair bands, “scrunchies” must be in school colours. Hair should be the natural colour and styled in such a way that children do not stand out from other children. The wearing of make-up and nail varnish is not allowed.
Football boots and shin pads may be required for some children; they will be informed if these are necessary.
For safety reasons any child, boy or girl must tie back long hair for PE and remove earrings (or tape over)
Because storage space in the cloakrooms is very limited, we ask that if children bring a bag to school it is no longer than 40 cm. The nylon frameless rucksacks are ideal.
The wearing of jewellery (including earrings) at school is not allowed for safety reasons, owing to the physical activity that takes place.
Any children who have recently pierced ears can, as a temporary measure only, wear stud earrings and cover these with micropore tape for P.E., Games and swimming lessons.
All items of clothing worn at school should be clearly marked with the owner’s name. Unclaimed property is recycled in the Bags2School or Leicestershire Authority recycling clothing scheme on a termly basis.
